Blue Oyster Cult

Newyorská rocková skupina založená v r. 1970 na základech sk. The Stalk - Forrest Group. (Od r. 1967 hráli i pod názvy Soft White Underbelly a Oxaca.) Celková image i sound byly do značné míry určovány dvěma manažery - Sandy Pearlmanem a Richardem Meltzerem. King byl už na jaře r. 1972 zastřelen. Díky mystické symbolice a zvukové tvrdosti jsou v 70. letech řazeni k heavy metalu. Nejvíce ceněno album Secret Treaties, kde je i několik skladeb od Patti Smith. V r. 1981 nahrazuje A. Boucharda Rick Downey. V r. 1985 mění skupina sestavu na Bloom, (J. Bouchard) Jon Rogers , Roeser, (Tommy Price ) Jimmy Wilcox, Tommy Zvoncheck. Komerční úspěšnost postupně klesá a B.Ö.C. koncertují spíš po klubech. V r. 1988 se scházejí opět v původním složení. J. Bouchard ale záhy odchází.
